Asus has just announced the release of its latest gaming phone duo, the Asus ROG Phone 7 and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. These phones are built around the same silicon, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X (8533Hz) RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate has some unique features that set it apart from the vanilla version, such as the AeroActive portal and the ROG Vision display on the back.

Asus claims that the GameCool7 cooling system is bigger and better, with a Boron Nitride layer, dual Graphite sheets, a Rapid-cycle Vapor Chamber, and the 15% efficiency benefit provided by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The new AeroActive Cooler 7 that comes with the Ultimate’s box can provide even bigger cooling advantages.

The ROG Phone 7 duo has AirTrigger ultrasonic shoulder controls that support gestures such as Dual Action, Press and Lift, and Gyroscope Aiming. The X-axis linear vibration motor provides vibration mapping to give realistic haptic feedback for on-screen buttons and actions. The ROG Phone 7 can also enable ray tracing in supported games, which means you will get more realistic reflections on water and metal surfaces.
The phones come with a 6.78-inch 2448x1080px Samsung-made AMOLED display, which is even brighter than its predecessor with a peak of 1,500nits. The panel supports variable refresh rate up to 165Hz and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery split into two equal 3,000mAh parts to improve cooling, with 65W charging.

The Asus ROG Phone 7 is available for pre-order in Europe and Taiwan through Asus’ online store and retail partners, while the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 74,999. The gaming smartphone series includes ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
